For my music video I chose the song Lemon Tree by the German band, Fools Garden. I planned to shoot the entire video in one location i.e. normal house set up. The makeup and hair was mostly done by me. The entire videography and editing was done by me. The direction I went with was where the combination of boredom and loneliness could sometimes send you into the realms of lunacy. I wanted to use comedy and silliness to hold the audiences attention. The messy, unkempt house that serves as the setting also echoes the messy, unkept mind of its only occupant. I felt audiences would connect given the the recent pandemic where everyone succumbed to the boredom and loneliness at one point or another. The actress was made-up to look like a doll/puppet. Her wig was the product of a household mop and mostly acrylic paint. The wig's colour was made to match that of her actual female puppet lookalike. Both the actress and her lookalike are also wearing the same type of hat. The two string  puppets in the video are meant to be a couple, who at the end of the video find their way back to each other thereby in keeping with the song's lyrics.

The filming took about a week but the editing took much longer as I kept reviewing it and kept making changes. I had a lot of footage which wound up on the cutting-room floor. It was my intention to finishing filming and editing in December 2022 but unfortunately I contracted chicken pox at the end of November. As such I actually finished filming mid-December and editing by mid February.

There are a total of 13 scenes, each of which was meticulously cut and cropped to fit into the 3 minute and 15 seconds song so as not to bore audiences. Most of the editing was done on my two android phones using CapCut an editing software app that I found extremely user friendly. The stylus on my phones made it easy cut and  crop scenes really short.

My earlier idea was to do a video for the Troye Sivan (Australian singer/songwriter) song 'YOUTH'. It was to be an uplifting video showcasing how life post-pandemic, along with the recent floods in the country, political strife, daily problems, etc can get you down but instead of focusing on the bad memories/moments only try recalling/focusing on the good/joyful memories and hold on to the hope that life will eventually get better.  Unfortunately the idea had to be scrapped as it was not looking cohesive. I ended up wasting nearly four months on this idea. I was excited to film in different locations with a variety of actors but halfway through I realized that it was looking very bizarre. The idea also included an animal and it proved very difficult to get the particular shots I wanted with the equipment and budget I had in hand. Also starring-in and directing at the same time, was proving quite challenging.
